So, this is what I've been doing for the past several weeks. I've had to do 10 illustrations for art class to illustrate a children's book that we write. We were only allowed to use traditional media (I'd be willing to bet that no body in that class had ever even seen, much less heard of a tablet).
I discovered I have a love-hate relationship with colour pencils. If the picture is turning out good, I love them--I want to keep using them. But when I'm working on a picture that's not turning out good, I hate them and want nothing more than to swear them off.
This was the only one that turned out at all to my liking, and I'm actualy fairly proud of it--especially her wing and the butterfly. But anyway--this is the only illustration out of the ten I've had to do that I'm submitting...'cause the rest turned out terrible.
